33029 WOK 26/09/87
Returning from the Basingstoke 'Rail Week' on September 26th 1987, we took 'Crompton' 33029 to Woking. The Eastleigh-based Type 3 was presumably deputising for a failed class 50, and is seen here waiting the 'right away' to head to Waterloo, sporting the classic '62' West of England headcode. Note the mini-snowploughs. I don't know why I bothered to take this contra-jour shot, but I'm really glad I did. The loco was withdrawn in February 1997 and would later pass to DRS and West Coast Railways.
