Class 86s worked the Great Eastern Mainline London Liverpool Street to Norwich services between the early 1980s and mid 2005, their last regular use in passenger traffic. They carried 'Anglia' turquoise livery until the end, although at that time were working for the 'One' franchise. This view on a wet 29th April 2004 shows 86246 'Royal Anglian Regiment' at Ipswich, on the rear of a Norwich-bound service. The loco has been new in April 1966 as E3149 and would be withdrawn in December 2004. Latterly in use as a spares donor, the loco finally reached the CF Booth scrapyard, Rotherham, in November 2016.
