51373 HYM 19/04/98
This view of the east end of Haymarket depot on the morning of Sunday 19th April 1998 is dominated by Murrayfield stadium. Stabled between peak-hour duties on the Fife Circle are class 117 sets '308 and '310. After displacement from the WR they were refurbished for use in Birmingham, before moving on to Scotland once the Birmingham 'Cross City' line had been electrified. DMBS vehicles 51371 and 51373 lead; interestingly as two of the three final deliveries in October 1960, both originally worked with class 118 trailers. Both left the WR for Tyseley in early 1988, and were at Haymarket between 1993/94 and final withdrawal in November 1999. We are post-privatisation here, so the 'Regional Railways' livery has the addition of a cab-front ScotRail 'swoosh'.
